INTRODUCING OUR SUPER DUPER
COMEDIC MENTOR

PATRICK MALIHA

Let's welcome back Patrick Maliha as our continuing Comedic  Mentor for Comedy Courage 2007.  Patrick put his wonderful talent to good use with ease being the 2006 Comedic Mentor.  He nurtured and help our 3rd generation of Courageous Comics develop their hidden talents.  This years line up with the guidance from Patrick promises to be a really big and fun packed night of "Laughing and Giving from the Heart"

After Patrick Maliha developed his writing skills while obtaining his B.A. in English from the University of Ottawa, he moved to Vancouver. Since then he has become a voting member of the Vancouver Film Critics Circle and can be seen every Thursday on the television show URBAN RUSH as one half of "The Movie Guys". A professional Stand-up comedian, Patrick has headlined and MC'ed various shows at the Vancouver International Comedy Festival in addition to a multitude of comedy clubs through out Canada and the U.S. He has appeared in numerous productions for the Vancouver Film School and was the subject of an Award Winning documentary entitled: "Truth of Today: Volatile Rhetoric".

A talented impressionist, Patrick placed in the top three during the 2003 Seattle International Comedy Competition (one of the highest placings ever by a Canadian). Patrick Maliha has also appeared in national commercials and was the host for the pilot episode of the television series “Travel Spot”. This past fall Patrick ran for Vancouver City Council under the NPA banner. Although he did not get elected, he received close to 40,000 votes and a wealth of experience and knowledge regarding the needs of the City of Vancouver and its' citizens.

Patrick believes it is important to give back to those in his community by mentoring other artists and by donating his time and talents. He is committed to many charity organizations and donates his Stand-Up skills to charities such as St. Augustine's Brick by Brick Campaign. Patrick feels especially privileged to work with the mental health community through “Comedy Courage”, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of people dealing with mental health issues.
